Top Gun (Ages 14 and Above)

To attend Top Gun you MUST BE 14 YEARS of age or older and/or have played a year of Junior at the time of the camp.  Additionally, you must satisfy one of the following two conditions:  1) during the 2011-2012 season you must have competed at the A or AA level; or 2) your association has already completed 2012 – 2013 try-outs and you have been selected to an A or AA team.  These requirements are in place so that you will be able to handle the physical and psychological demands of the camp.

Top Gun camps are for athletes who are looking to reach the next competitive level of our sport.  The instructors at the Top Gun camps are World Champion ringette players, National Team members and athletes from the National Ringette League.

Top Gun camps will be run in the following locations: Ottawa, Ajax, Halifax and Calgary Trico Week 2.

Top Gun camps feature 3 ice times per day and off-ice sessions which will focus on the following:

-      power and agility skating instruction

-      advanced ringette skills

-      fitness and conditioning

-      nutrition planning and education

-      in-depth mental toughness training

The last ice session of each day will be a scrimmage where athletes have the opportunity to show off newly acquired skills.

When the athletes are off the ice they will participate in a variety of age-appropriate activities to help develop their athletic abilities and ringette skills.  The activities will range from off-ice shooting and fitness sessions to nutrition, strategy and mental training classroom sessions.

Space is limited to 30 skaters and 4 goaltenders.
