Thank you to EVERYONE who submitted entries to our “Why I Love Ringette” contest. There were over 400 entries making the decision on winners very difficult. Ringette
When I play ringette I enjoy taking shots.
Gliding down the ice, I have powerful thoughts.
I feel the passion when I skate down the ice;
I look at the net, not once, but twice!
I push hard on my stride and it can’t go wrong,
When I skate through the players I feel so strong.
I look up at the net and aim for the side,
I raise my stick and I’m filled with pride.
I release the ring. It goes high off the ground.
I watch the blue ring spin around and around.
When I finally see the ring in the net,
I’m proud to say that I play ringette!

Second winner: Avery B.; 10 years old from La Salle, MB
I love ringette because it’s fun and it involves skating. And, I love skating!
My favourite position is defense because you get to help out your goalie but you can also switch with a forward on your team to shoot and hopefully score. Sometimes you have to skate hard to get back to your goalie to defend your zone.
I love tournaments because you usually get to play a ton of games in a weekend. Also, we sometimes stay in a hotel with the rest of our team so we get to swim and hangout with our team.
I especially love when we play hard teams because so have to work extra hard and challenge yourself. And, I like challenging myself. That’s why I love ringette!

Hello my name is Emma and I am 6 years old.
I love ringette because my friends play and I am making new friends. I also love ringette because I love to skate and learn new skills like teamwork and passing and shooting. Because my Dad is one of my coaches and my friend’s mommy also coaches us.
I love to play games and practice with my friends. I love ringette because I get to have fun and I also like the exhibition games and tournaments that we get to play.
I get to play against other girls. Which is fun. My coaches always tell us the most important thing in playing is having fun. So we always play to have fun first.
I love to have my Grandparents come watch my team play ringette they always cheer my team on during the games.
